Welcome my Friends - Happy Thanksgiving - Come and See at WT!

Hello!  Happy Thanksgiving this week and every week!

Tonight @ 7:00 at WATTERSON TRAIL CHURCH OF CHRIST at 9609 Watterson Trail in beautiful Jeffersontown, Kentucky we will be having a very special combined Bible study session, everyone together thinking about the four things Jesus asks of those who want to follow Him: 1) _______ yourself, 2) bear your ________, 3) ___________ Jesus, and 4) don’t be ___________ of Jesus.  We will then discuss just what it means to do these four things.

We will then ask ourselves if it is really “worth it” to do what Jesus asks us to do and learn about the definition of “worth” or “value.”  How can one determine the “value” or “worth” of something?  Value or worth can be determined by the following characteristics:

Age – Is it new?  Is it old?  How old?  Is it just “old” or is it “classic” or an “antique?”

Duration – What of its quality?  Will it last?  Will it hold its value or worth?

Brand – Some things are valuable or have a high worth due to the brand.

Time and Effort Involved – Consider the worth or value of a doctor, a lawyer, a professor, an athlete, a musician, etc. and why.

Supply and Demand – Why is gold so expensive?  And nurses, just apply and start to work.  Why?  A painting was recently sold at auction for more than $80 million.  Why?

Intrinsic Value – Why is your grandmother’s old “whatever” worth so much to you?  And why is a set of items often worth more than the value of individual items?

Jesus is worth it.  Worth whatever I have to think, say, or do in my life.  He is ageless, timeless, one of a kind, gave everything He had for me, supplies my every need now and forever, and His value is beyond my thoughts or imagination.

You are worth it, too.  If your value could be calculated, you’d be worth more than all the world.  Jesus said so in Matthew 16:26

“For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Come and join us at 7:00 for a spirited discussion.  And be thankful.

Fall...Election Day 2016...Question #2 - Who is the speaker speaking to?

November! Autumn! See the falling leaves?  Feel those cooler temperatures (Well, I guess we’ll have to wait a little while longer for this blessing.  It was 85 degrees on Tuesday.  Don’t fret.  Those cool winter breezes will soon arrive.)?  Smell the aroma of firewood burning in the fireplace. The turkey and dressing and pecan pie are just around the corner. The holidays are on the horizon.  Don’t you just love this time of year?

Our “Trunk or Treat” went very well last Saturday along with our “Annual Chili Cook-off.”  Congratulations to Jane Johnson, our 2016 Chili Champion.  Jane’s chili held up against 12 entries.  Thank you to every member at Watterson Trail for your participation.

The Deacons’ Appreciation Sunday was a terrific success.  We had 100 members and guests assembled to honor our five hard-working deacons.  Thank you, brothers for your dedicated service: Ray, Jerry, Lee, Eric, and Denny.  Keep up the good work.

This Tuesday, November 8th is Election Day in America.  We will be electing a new President who will serve our great nation for the next four years.  We will also cast our vote for others who will be leading our nation in their respective positions.  In Joshua 24:15 Joshua asked God’s people to “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve” and then courageously announced; “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  Our choice on Tuesday is a little bit different.  We might say; “Choose for yourselves this day who will serve you, your family, and this great nation of ours, the United States of America.”  What a choice we have before us!  We have the privilege to cast our vote to elect the one who we trust to serve us for the next four years.  May God bless us with wisdom and courage as we cast our vote and then trust that His will be done.  God is our all in all.

Now to question #2 in the series: How can we correctly understand the Bible.

God has indeed given us a great promise in John 8:31-32;   “They Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’”

Jesus always keeps His promises.  Hebrews 10:23 tells us;   “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

We know that we can understand the Bible, because we are commanded to.  Ephesians 5:17 tells us; “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of Lord is.”

QUESTION 1 – WHO IS SPEAKING?
QUESTION 2 – WHO IS THE SPEAKER SPEAKING TO?

The Bible says in Genesis 6:14 “Make yourself an Ark of gopherwood.”  We know who the speaker was; God.  But who was God speaking to? We should ask ourselves this question in order to understand God’s will.  Must we make ourselves an Ark of gopherwood?  Of course we know that no one today must build an Ark, because God was not speaking to everyone.  He was speaking here to Noah.

Luke 18:22 says, “Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, and follow Me.”  To follow Jesus must we all sell all that we have?  Is Jesus speaking to us?  The answer is no, because Jesus was speaking to a certain ruler who was very rich and trusted in his riches to his detriment.  It is important to know who the speaker is speaking to.

It is very important to know who is speaking and who the speaker is speaking to in order to understand the Bible correctly.

Understanding the Bible - Ask WHO IS SPEAKING?

How can we correctly understand the Bible?

In this series of articles we will consider several questions, answers, and comments that will help us to understand the Bible correctly when we sit down to read it.  God has given us a great promise in John 8:31-32:

“They Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’”

Jesus always keeps His promises.  Hebrews 10:23 tells us:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

We know that we can understand the Bible, because we are commanded to.  Ephesians 5:17 tells us:

“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of Lord is.”

QUESTION 1 – WHO IS SPEAKING?

The Bible says in Job 2:9; “Curse God and die.”  The rest of the Bible teaches us to worship God, not to curse Him.  What shall we do?  After reading Job 2:9-10 we should ask ourselves, “Who is speaking?”  The answer here is Job’s wife.  She told her husband Job to “Curse God and die,” and was speaking foolishly.

Psalm 14:1 says, “There is no God.”  But who is speaking?  The passage shows us this is a statement of a fool.

In Acts 4:18 we read a command to not “speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.”  We are not to obey this command.  Why not?  Because when we read the chapter, and ask ourselves who is speaking, we learn that the enemies of Christ gave this command.  Therefore, we teach because Jesus gave the command to teach (Matthew 28:19).

Next time:  QUESTION #2 – Who is the speaker speaking to?

Honor to God - Devotion to Christ - Love to All

Good day to you!  Welcome.  Our motto at Watterson Trail is “Honor to God – Devotion to Christ – Love to all.”

Think about these principles.

What does it mean to show honor to God?  Honor is defined as “special esteem and respect.”  When we check the thesaurus we find the words; admiration, reverence, devotion, pride, and graciousness as equals to “honor.”  God, our Father is worthy of honor.  In Him we live and move and have our very being.  He is our Creator, our sustainer, our provider, our hope, and our deliverer.  The Psalmist wrote long ago, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 146:1).  He is so right.  Check yourself.  Do you honor God in your thinking?  It certainly is a challenge in our day to remain positive and faithful with so much negative around us.  Do you honor God in your speech?  Read Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”  Check your words.  Are you honoring God?  Do you honor God in your life, in your everyday decisions?  Where we are in life is a result of our choices.  Do your choices honor God?

What does it mean to show devotion to Christ?  Devotion defined is “ardent attachment or loyalty.”  Other words that describe devotion are dedication, commitment, love, adoration, admiration, and enthusiasm.  Jesus is worthy of our devotion.  What is most important to you?  Make a list.  Where did you put your Lord and Savior, your Friend and Confidant, Jesus Christ?  When Jesus is first, everyone and everything else fits perfectly in order.

Love to all!  This can be tough!  However, when we seek to honor God and devote ourselves to Jesus, showing love to all will simply be the next step to take.  Two days before Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion, He spoke to His disciples and described a time in the future when He would return and what would happen.  He spoke about sheep and goats and the difference.  Note the text in Matthew 25:31-46.  When we honor one another, we honor God.  When we devote ourselves to each other, we devote ourselves to God.  When we love each other, we love God.

Fall is Just Around the Corner, then Election Day!

Hello family and friends.  Goodbye July.  Welcome August.  One morning very soon we’ll walk outside and feel the change of seasons in the air.  Leaves will begin to change into the vibrant colors of fall and we’ll be reminded of God’s power and promises once again.  Autumn is still seven weeks away (September 22) and yet those yellow school buses running up and down our streets picking up children for school is one of the many marks of the end of summer.  Time for our schedule to change again; up and out earlier and to bed earlier, homework, better preparation and better organization, patience and Christian character, a little more kindness and the mind to help each other.  May God bless us as we make the changes we need to make!  Stop.  Look.  Listen.

Our Tuesday Summer Series “Portraits of Faith” continues with the final four sessions this month. We’ll be looking at the final four portraits:  (9) Aquila and Priscilla’s Committed Faith – Dean Beard (Borden Springs, Piedmont, Alabama), (16) Timothy’s Learned Faith – Steve Johnson (North Lexington), (23) The Sinful Woman’s Serving Faith – Brent Donoho (Martinsburg, Indiana), and (30) Jesus’ Redeeming Faith – Michael Galloway (Cedar Springs/Louisville).  Come and enjoy hearing God’s word read and taught by four great gospel preachers.  You'll be so very glad you came.

Election Day (November 8) is 92 days away.  We, the United States of America will be electing a new president along with other politicians to serve in the various capacities of our government.  How will you cast your vote?  I pray that we all will take these 92 days to open our eyes, think for ourselves, and decide what is best for our country and our world.  We must look past all the political rhetoric and the media bias to get as informed as possible about the candidates that are vying for our vote.  We must not be dismayed, discouraged, or deceived.  Take a look at God’s council to Joshua when the leadership over Israel was about to change; “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).  God will give us the wisdom (James 1:5). We need it.

Portraits of Faith all around us...

Welcome.  Glad you came by for a glance.  July is slowly fading into August here in beautiful warm Louisville, Kentucky.  Our Watterson Trail Church of Christ Tuesday Summer Series is going well.  Our theme is “Portraits of Faith.”

Noah showed his faith through his obedience to God’s command to build an ark to save the world.  Genesis 6:22 tells us “Thus Noah did according to all that God commanded him, so he did.”

Abraham showed his faith by trusting in God’s promises.  God promised Abraham that all nations would be blessed through his family.  Genesis 15:6 tells us that “Abram believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.”

Moses showed his faith in God through his longsuffering time and time again among the Israelites as they journeyed to Canaan, back into the wilderness for 40 years, and then back again to Canaan.

Joseph showed his faith in God over and over again and learned humility through his suffering.  Read Genesis 45:5-8 to see the beautiful account of his testimony to his brothers concerning God’s providence for them according to His divine design.

Esther showed her faith in God through her wisdom.  What a woman she was in her decision to fast before the Lord and risk her own life for her people!  Esther 4 highlights the circumstances of God’s people in Persia.

Ruth:  What strength!  Wow!  She said to Naomi in Ruth 1:16-17; “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your god, my God.  Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried, Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”  No wonder King David was a man after God’s own heart.  Ruth was his great-grandmother.

Peter showed his faith in God by not giving up on himself when he was afraid and doubtful and denied Jesus’ those three times.  Oh, how he wept and sorrowed over those words he spoke in Mark 14:66-72.

John the beloved showed his faith by his love for Jesus.  He was not always so loving and kind.  Do you remember what he and brother wanted to do to Luke 9:54-56?  Jesus taught him and demonstrated to him what love really is.  He learned.

Only 5 more sessions remain.  Next up will be perspectives of faith from Paul, Aquila and Pricilla, Timothy, the sinful woman, and Jesus, Himself.

May God bless us with wisdom and faith in Him as we prayerfully and carefully consider who will earn our vote to be our President of the United States of America.  There’s so much at stake, even our very Christian lives and the future we will be presenting to our children.  Listen closely without prejudice.  Look deeper and beyond the obvious.  Learn.  Be smart.  Be strong.  Trust God and in your own educated determination.  Don’t worry about what others might think, say, or do.  Don't be afraid.  God will provide.

We are ONE Nation Under God, Relatives, Family...

Hello and welcome!  We are the United States of America, a nation of people always living, working, growing, changing, hoping, and surviving in a chaotic world by God’s amazing grace.  Are there issues that need to be resolved?  Yes.  Has there ever been a time in history when we didn’t have issues that needed resolution?  Do we have problems as a nation of people?  Certainly!  We have been…We are and will remain a work in progress as human beings created in the image of God Himself.

Jesus said that a kingdom, city, or house divided against itself will not stand (Matthew 12:25) and He is so right.  Even humanity’s real enemy, Satan will not stand if he is divided against himself.  And so, unity then becomes the real goal for every nation, city, or family.

It seems that lately many in our nation have adopted an “us versus them” outlook toward each other, toward others, and toward the world in general.  Fact is; we are all one.  We are family; brothers and sisters with one Father, God.  Read the Bible and see what I mean.  Paul was in Athens in Acts 17:22-31 seeing the many “objects” of the Athenians’ worship.  After congratulating the people for their religious aims, he taught them about the one and only true and living God and His relationship to them and their relationship to each other.  God is Lord of everything since He made everything.  He is spiritual and doesn’t need the people to build Him a house to dwell in.  He is perfectly capable of handling every situation and so doesn’t need people to “help” Him since He “gives to all life, breath, and all things.”  God made from “one man” every man on the earth.  And so, we all are brothers and sisters, cousins, relatives, family.  Think about it.  Every person you meet is your relative, a brother or sister, auntie or uncle, niece or nephew or cousin.  To me this fact changes my way of thinking, speaking, and acting toward others.  How about you, brother?

Growing in Grace and Knowledge...

July in beautiful Louisville, Kentucky! Welcome family and friends!

Our annual Tuesday Summer Series is going very well.  And what a challenge these “Portraits of Faith” are to every one of us!  Noah was challenged to obey God.  He did even though it took him 100 years to do it.  Abraham was challenged to trust God.  He did even though he was 100 years of age when Isaac came along.  Moses was challenged to be patient.  He was even though his mission to deliver Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land took 40 extra years.  Joseph was challenged to be humble.  He was even though he was sold into slavery, mistreated, imprisoned, and forgotten for 22 years.  Esther was challenged to be wise.  She was even though she had to risk her own life for her people.  On Tuesday (12th) Brother Chad Landman from the Graymere Church of Christ in Columbia, Tennessee will be with us to show us how Ruth was challenged to be strong in the midst of the trials of life.  I hope you will make plans to be here for this great lesson from God’s word.  May we all decide to grow in our faith!  Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”  The more of God’s word we read, study, hear, and reflect on the strong our faith will be.  Psalm 1 teaches us that when we delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night, we will prosper in all that we do.  How about it?  Come and hear and see!

The Watterson Trail congregation meets for worship on Sunday morning at 10:30 and again on Sunday afternoon at 1:30.  We meet in smaller age-appropriate sessions for Bible study on Sunday morning at 9:30.  Currently we are in the midst of our Tuesday Summer Series from June through August.  Beginning in September through May we will meet every Wednesday at 7:00 for Bible study.

Someone might ask; “Why so many meetings?”  The answer is simple. Jesus said it best.  “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth…but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  He is our treasure.  His word is our guide.  His kingdom and His righteousness are our priority.  Where He leads we follow happily, securely, and with all the confidence in the world.

The passing of a legend - Cassius Clay - God alone sees and knows

Hello family and friends.  Our fair city has been in view of the world this week due to the death one of our own citizens, a man formerly known as Cassius Clay.  He is no different from any who pass from this life to the next, and yet he is very much different.  You can decide the similarities to just about any who die.  Like many, though he was rich in worldly things, yet he only took with him all that he had when we entered the world on January 17, 1942.  Like many, he enjoyed many great victories and like many he suffered much during his short 74 years.  Like every human being who dies; he kept his appointment with death and is now awaiting the judgement.  You can also decide the differences.  He will always be known as the greatest boxer of all time.  He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005.  He left his faith in Jesus Christ to become a Muslim at age 23.  He refused to follow his fellow countrymen into war answering the call with a “No.”  He was married four times and has nine children.  He had Parkinson’s disease.  He will be missed.  The world keeps spinning.  Time moves on.

God alone sees all and knows all and will judge all. Not me. Not you. Not the media or the world.  Only God.  And I’m glad.  In those final moments of a person’s life, thoughts of the past, present, and the future…all that is done or all that could’ve or would’ve or should’ve been done…victories and defeats…love of family and friends…times of happiness and sorrow…only God knows and understands and accepts or rejects.  God is good.  He is merciful.  He is love.  He is perfect.  He never makes a mistake.  He is right.  To be in His hands, well, there’s no better place to be.  May God bless the Ali family during their great loss is my prayer for them.  May God bless us to trust Him with our all and follow His instructions in Proverbs 3:3-5.

This Sunday (June 12) we will begin a new series of sermons entitled “Proper Adjustments.”  In this series we will look at examples from the Bible that will show us that God has always required adjustments when He asks us to follow Him.  Think with me.  Did Noah have to change?  What about Abraham?  Did God ask Moses to be different?  What about David?  And Jonah?  Did the 12 Apostles have to adjust their lives to Jesus’ instructions?  I could keep going but I think you get the picture.  This Sunday we will look at the rich young ruler who wanted eternal life.  Jesus told him he could have what he requested.  But there is an adjustment that the man had to make.  What about you?  Is God asking you to make an adjustment? Is He asking you to change?  You can do it!

Sunday afternoon at 1:30 is a very special time of worship and study at Watterson Trail.  I’m preaching a series entitled “Peace Under Pressure.”  Do you have “Peace WITH God?”  This is spiritual peace.  What about the “Peace OF God?”  This is emotional peace.  Well, when you have peace with God, you then have the peace of God.  Then, you will find “Peace IN God.”  This is relational peace.  Come and hear.  You will be so glad you did.  We almost always out at 2:30 for the rest of Sunday at home or visiting with family and friends.

Happy Mother's Day 2016

Happy Mother’s Day!  Remember to call your mother. Some only wish they could. “Mother” can bring to mind many things:  peace, warmth, security, respect, honor, discipline, the rules of life, even our existence.   A mother’s love is a precious gift.  The Bible teaches us that love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.  Love never fails.  Receiving love is certainly wonderful. Giving love is even better. Jesus has always been exactly right (Acts 20:35).  It is truly more blessed to give than to receive.  Our mothers literally gave us life.  What shall we do?

One Saturday before Mother’s Day a thoughtful mother gave her three sons two dollars each and allowed them to shop for her for Mother’s Day.  How can three little boys in “J C Penney’s” ever show their mother just how much they love her with six dollars between them?  Such a task is impossible.  Of course we must remember that love simply cannot be measured in dollars or in any worldly terms.  The choices were limited.  These three boys finally agreed upon just the right pin for their mother to wear on her Sunday dress.  They pooled their money, almost to the penny and had their mother’s gift of love wrapped and ready to present to her.  On Sunday with bursting hearts and smiling faces those boys gathered around their mother and presented her the small box.  She gently opened the box saying, “You boys didn’t have to get me anything.” She took out the pin with the most wonderful look of joy and happiness, and immediately placed it on her blouse all the while talking about how beautiful it was and that this particular pin was all she ever wanted.

A few years later these boys, now grown with children of their own gathered together around the dinner table with their parents reminiscing about those “good old days.”  Quietly the mother slipped away and returned a few minutes later holding the pin that those boys purchased for her so many years before.  To her, that pin holds more love than the most expensive piece of jewelry in the world.  The reason is obvious if you understand the meaning of love.

Lemons into Lemonade - And I love lemonade!

Welcome family and friends!  Don't you just love this time of year - Spring?  This morning it was very cool (38 degrees) in my old Kentucky home.  I'm still adjusting from Arkansas to Kentucky.  Even though the temps are very cool God's creation is waking up from its winter sleep.  The daffodils have given way to tulips, lilies, and irises.  The pear trees are giving way to the redbuds and dogwoods.  We're looking forward to summer and its wonderful blessings.

The Watterson Trail ladies have been especially busy over the past few days getting everything ready for our annual Ladies’ Day 2016, scheduled for this Saturday, April 9th at 8:30 a.m.  Our theme is "Turning Lemons into Lemonade."  We have invited a very special ladies' day speaker:  Janie Craun, editor of the Gospel Advocate's Christian Woman magazine.

I know that the entire day will enjoyable, encouraging, and challenging to all who participate.  Of course, this is a "ladies only" event.  The Watterson Trail men will proudly be serving lunch to all the ladies at 12:00.

Isn’t it true that there are times in life where it seems that we have been given “lemons?”  Now what can you do when life hands you a lemon?  Some immediately give up and throw away what could have been something wonderful.  Some give in to the “lemon” and become sour and seedy to live a life of quiet desperation.  Some sit and stare at the “lemon” trying to figure out what to do, but give out too quickly; defeated by a “lemon.”  And then there are some who take the “lemons” of life and with God’s grace make something delicious and nutritious.  They turn their “lemons” into lemonade to enjoy and share with the world.

Did you know that “turning lemons into lemonade” can also be profitable?  When my daughter was little, she wanted to earn some spending money during the summer.  She and her younger brother spent an entire day building a lemonade stand out of cardboard boxes, painting signs to place at the end of our driveway, turning lemons into lemonade, and selling Dixie cups of lemonade for 25 cents each out in the hot Florida sun.  Of course, we had to make a trip to the store at the end of the day.  Why?  To buy get more “lemons” of course and maybe get a few other “benefits” of turning lemons into lemonade as well.  We cannot always determine the chances, changes, and challenges that come to us in life.  We can however determine the attitude with which we face those chances, changes, and challenges.

I am glad when they say to me, Let us go into the house of the Lord!

Welcome family and friends!  It is our desire and prayer to honor God as we gather for Bible study, worship, and Christian fellowship on the Lord’s Day and every day.  We are to read God’s word every day because the strength of our faith lies in our knowledge of the Bible.  We find that “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).  The Psalmist wrote in Psalms 1 about the prosperity of the person who delights in God’s law and meditates on it day and night.  This person is pictured as a healthy tree growing and prospering year after year.  Jesus finished His sermon on the mountain with statements about the importance of hearing and doing His word (Matthew 7:24-27).  It is foolish to hear what needs to be done and then not do it.  It is wise to hear and do.

Our Sunday morning sermon series is entitled “Growing in Gladness.”  We are studying about worship and how happy we should be as Christians to worship God in spirit and in truth.  David was glad to worship (Psalm 122:1).  We should be too.  Sunday is the Lord’s Day.  We honor God when we meet together for worship and fellowship.  Some Christians miss the central theme of the assembly: Christians together drawing near to God, holding tightly to the confession of our hope, considering one another to stir up love and good works (Hebrews 10:19-25).  We honor Him when we remember Jesus’ death in the Lord’s Supper.  We honor Him when we pray.  We honor God when we give of our means.  We honor Him when we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.  We honor Him when we hear the preaching of His word.

We’ll be looking at how we can grow in gladness through prayer this Sunday, February 7th.  Come and hear.  God still hears and answers our supplications, prayers, and intercessions.  He stills hears our words of thanksgiving.  We just need to pray, today and everyday.

May God bless us in 2016 as we renew our focus on the Light of the world, Jesus Christ our Savior and Friend on Sunday, the Lord’s Day and every day.  May we decide again to grow in His grace and in the knowledge of Christ.

Just a word or two about “fellowship.”

In our day of social media, texting, email, network marketing, and the like is seems that “fellowship” has taken on a different meaning.  People can now be “friends” without any physical contact.  I hear that some churches are now having worship services via the internet, the preacher preaching from the beach in Florida or from some other location over the audio/video system that is sent out via the world wide web.  The church gives via PayPal.  One is asked to sing along as he sits behind his computer monitor watching people/the choir/the band perform.  Some pray all alone then eat the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine in remembrance of Jesus’ death still all alone.  And when I ask about fellowship and God’s command in Hebrews 10:24-25 I can almost hear some say, “Brother Mickey, I’m not alone!  All my 482 Facebook friends, my 242 Twitter buddies, and my Blog followers are right here with me.  And if I want to “see” someone or speak “face to face” I’ll just Skype them.”  Really?  What can I say?
